The Glan-Laser Polarizer is a Glan-Taylor Polarizer that is specifically designed to deal with high-energy laser light. The polarizer is assembled of two same birefringent crystal prisms with an air space(no glue). It has two polished side surfaces to enable the rejected beams to escape, thus avoiding damage due to excessive heating of the prisms. The provision of two escape windows allows use of this type of polarizer in both directions, e.g. intra cavity gain switching.
